Recently coming under new ownership and rebranding, Westside Kosher Butcher + Deli is bringing fresh energy with a continued commitment to the community while honoring the decades of tradition that made the store a local favorite. Originally opened as Harvard Row Kosher Meats and Poultry in the early 1960s, the store has been a trusted destination for quality kosher meat and prepared food, specialty products and exceptional service. Run by the Katz family for the past several decades, Johnny and his children brought the business from a full scale butcher shop to incorporating his son Larry’s restaurant and cooking expertise into a kosher carryout destination. The Letvin family has been in the meat business in both retail and wholesale going back four generations, owning a large butcher shop in the Meyers and Wyoming area of Detroit and running a packing house in the Del Rey neighborhood. Michael has been a staple around the butcher shop since the late 90s, helping out around the holidays the last 15 plus years. He and his family are looking forward to carrying on the legacy. We are certified by the Vaad Ha’Rabonim of Detroit and will continue the tradition of excellence and service instilled by the Katz family. Larry will be staying on as executive chef, cooking your favorites and consistently expanding on the current menu. We continue to supply the quality aged steaks and chops along with roasts and fresh poultry the store has come to be known for, looking for sustainably sourced and certified humane product. We are looking forward to proudly offering sausages and cured meats made in-house along with deli sandwiches in addition to the prepared favorites you have come to love.
